Tim Schwartz: Card Catalog

Tim Schwartz writes about his Card Catalog (2008):
A card catalog designed to hold all of the songs on my iPod, 7,390 songs. Each song is cataloged on a single card. The cards are organized in reverse chronological order, that is the songs I listened to most recently are in the front of the catalog, and the songs I haven’t listened to in two years exist at the back. The piece is seven feet long when closed and just under fourteen feet when opened.Read more about the Card Catalog and see a video of it in action.

Wow, how fascinating! I wonder how long it took him to organize all 7,000 of those songs! When I was watching the video of it, I was afraid it would break in half because it was so long!
People are becoming more and more creative in different ways. There's this website that just launched that gives artists virtual studio space to display and sell their work. It's called www.mysoiree.net. The power of the internet is amazing now and how it's creeping into the art world. Just like how we could watch that video of Tim Schwartz and his card catalog!
Thanks for your post! Always a pleasure reading it.
